Hugh Jackman Pulls out of Play Houdini
So, in essence, Hugh Jackman pulled a Houdini regarding Houdini. He was supposed to play the great illusionist, but he disappeared. Get it? That works on so many levels. It is like the magic version of Inception. No, all meta kidding aside, Hugh Jackman pulls out of play Houdini for reasons related to time. As many of you know, it’s a shame, but these things happen around Hollywood quite a bit.
Freep has more detailed reasons, but Hugh Jackman pulls out of plays from time to time. The thing is, when you sign on for a play you don’t always know what is going to be expected of you for that role. It seems Jackman just did his best to work out the material and time needed, but realized he was not going to be able to commit on the level he would like to. Or something better may have come along. Truth is, we can never really know what goes on behind-the-scenes. We think it is a shame, because Jackman already did the magic thing in The Prestige, and he did it well.
But such is life in Hollywood. Hugh Jackman pulls out of Houdini, someone else slips right in. We just hope they can fill his magic shoes as well as Jackman would have.
