Mike Golic is back on the sports media scene with his son, and with his return, the ex-ESPN star seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

The former defensive lineman for the Eagles and Dolphins started at ESPN Radio in 1998 alongside Tony Bruno in the morning drive.

He then moved on to “Mike & Mike” with Mike Greenberg from 2000-17, and then he linked up with his son Mike Golic Jr. and Trey Wingo for “Golic & Wingo,” which ended in 2020.

Golic and ESPN parted ways after that.

On Friday’s episode of “The Dan Patrick Show,” Golic revealed that he wants the Worldwide Leader to look back and regret letting him go.

“I didn’t want ‘Mike and Mike’ to end, and then it ended, but it wasn’t my choice,” he said. “I didn’t want to be done at ESPN, but again, it wasn’t my choice. So at some point, you have to realize, ‘Well, I can’t do anything about it.’ But that pride thing in that world where you say, ‘OK, I want to show you that was a mistake.’

“Whether it ends up being true or not, I have no idea.”

His new show, “Gojo & Golic,” will be aired on Draft Kings Network on Samsung TV+ next week and will feature the former ESPN personality and his son once again to return to what Golic said was the “most fun” of his career.

“Trey and my son – the most fun I had,” he said of his time on ESPN Radio. “I mean, my God, I get to work with my kid, you know? I mean, we’d flip on the microphone at 6 a.m., and there I am talking with my son. So, now we’re going to do that again for two hours every morning. I’m not passing that up.”

Golic Jr. continued doing afternoon radio until 2022, after the end of “Golic & Wingo.”

The father and son have a chance to run their own show on their own terms, and the morning program will air between 8-10 a.m. ET daily.

“Me and Dad talked about this for a while,” Golic Jr. said, according to The Athletic. “What if we gave this a real shot again? It seemed like people enjoyed it before. It did not end on our terms with our show last time around, so we sort of get a chance to go out here and write the ending however we see fit.”
